I thought I read that he got caught up in a construction scam. And so the Russians are arresting people who are guilty of construction fraud.

Betrayal? The "purge" in the Kremlin has begun… Speculations about the real reason for the arrest and two-month detention of Deputy Minister of Defense Timur Ivanov do not stop in Russia. Ivanov was charged with accepting bribes on Tuesday after his arrest, but some media, although Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov rejected such constructions, speculate that Ivanov was arrested on suspicion of treason, and some analysts and Russian commentators speculate that Ivanov's detention is a warning to his boss, Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu. "Now there are many different interpretations about all this... You have to focus on the official information," Peskov told reporters, noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin had been informed in advance of Ivanov's detention. However, not everyone is convinced of Moscow's official position regarding Ivanov's detention. Some Russian commentators claim that the arrest is a major blow to Shoigu. "If he can't sort it out somehow, he'll be the next one to fall. This person is 100 percent his man," an anonymous source told a popular military Telegram channel. Some Western observers seem to agree. Vladimir Putin "doesn't sign it unless he sends a message to Shoigu, one that says something along the lines of 'that could have been you,'" David Silbey, an associate professor of history at Cornell University in Washington, told Newsweek. On Wednesday, Shoigu dismissed Ivanov as deputy defense minister, according to Russian state news agency TASS. Hours earlier, there were reports of Ivanov's arrest on bribery charges, on what a Moscow court described as particularly large-scale. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison. Ivanov denied the accusations. What did Ivanov do? Before his arrest, Ivanov was in charge of Russian military infrastructure projects. He has been responsible for asset management, deployment of military forces and medical support for the Russian Ministry of Defense since 2016, and Forbes ranked him among the richest people in the Russian security establishment. Perhaps more importantly, many considered him one of Shoigu's closest allies. The two worked together for many years, including when Ivanov was deputy prime minister of the Moscow region while Shoigu was governor of the region.

Secret Service officer protecting Kamala Harris came to blows with other agents at Joint Base Andrews A Secret Service agent tasked with protecting Vice President Kamala Harris brawled with several other agents on Monday morning, the agency confirmed. The altercation took place around 9 a.m. near Joint Base Andrews on the outskirts of Washington DC, prior to Harris’ arrival on the scene. The agent in question, whose identity has not been revealed, was immediately “removed from their assignment,” the Secret Service told The Post. “A US Secret Service special agent supporting the Vice President’s departure from Joint Base Andrews began displaying behavior their colleagues found distressing,” Anthony Guglielmi, chief of communications for the US Secret Service, said to The Post. Medical personnel were called onto the scene, per Guglielmi. That agent had been at Joint Base Andrews to support Harris’ planned departure, but ultimately the scuffle did not delay her travel. Guglielmi added because it was a “medical matter,” the department would not “disclose any further details.” Harris traveled to New York City where she was scheduled to tape an interview on “The Drew Barrymore Show.” The agent who instigated the fight was armed and grew aggressive with others, the Washington Examiner reported. A detail shift supervisor and special agent in charge pushed him to cool off, but then a fight broke out, according to the report. That agent acted “erratically” when he arrived on the scene and eventually got on top of the special agent in charge of the vice president, then began punching him, RealClearPolitics reported. Afterward, that unnamed agent was then reportedly handcuffed and received medical attention. Following the blow-up, some questioned the hiring process behind that agent, including any assessment of that individual’s background, according to RealClearPolitics. There had also apparently been longstanding concerns about the agent in question prior to Monday’s incident, per the report. Harris was notified about the situation, according to Guglielmi.

In London Iranians walking around, where do they work?

British security services are facing a complex challenge as Iran’s influence in the UK appears to be on the rise. This influence manifests in two key ways: through the activities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the powerful military wing of the Iranian regime, and through a network of seemingly benign organizations with close ties to Tehran. The IRGC has become a focal point of concern. Accused of plotting assassinations and kidnappings on British soil, the organization is seen as a direct threat to national security. Ken McCallum, the Director-General of MI5, has placed Iran alongside Russia and China as a top security threat. Proponents of proscribing the IRGC as a terrorist organization argue it would disrupt their operations and deter potential collaborators. However, the UK government hesitates due to the need to maintain diplomatic channels with Iran. Beyond overt threats, Iran is also adept at wielding “soft power” to influence British society. A network of charities, cultural centers, and even some media outlets suspected of having links to the Iranian regime operate across the UK. These organizations often promote a specific viewpoint that aligns with Tehran’s interests. One such group under scrutiny is the Islamic Centre of England (ICE). Described as the “London office” of the IRGC by some lawmakers, ICE is currently under investigation by the Charity Commission, a government watchdog that regulates charities. The Commission is examining concerns about ICE’s governance and potential links to extremism. Another example is the Islamic Cultural Centre in Manchester. Here, a former director reportedly boasted about attending an award ceremony in Iran for “best soft war” officers, raising questions about the center’s true mission. The impact of Iran’s influence campaign is felt across British society. Some reports suggest Iranian efforts may contribute to social tensions. For instance, protests surrounding the display of cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad or a controversial film about a religious figure are seen by some as partly fueled by Iranian agitation. Additionally, Iranian state media outlets, despite facing broadcasting restrictions, use social media platforms to reach British audiences and promote narratives that align with the regime’s agenda.

Ukrainian Minister Under Investigation for Alleged Land Grab A high-profile scandal rocks Ukraine's political landscape as Mykola Solskyi, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food and former Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, faces allegations of involvement in an organized criminal group orchestrating the illicit seizure of state lands. The National Bureau of Fight Against Corruption and prosecutors have launched an investigation into Solskyi's purported role in the systematic expropriation of nearly 25 thousand acres of state-owned land between 2017 and 2021. Furthermore, authorities suspect Solsky and his accomplices, including individuals within the State Cadastre, of plotting to unlawfully seize an additional 33 thousand acres. According to official reports, the modus operandi of the criminal group involved the destruction of ownership documents and fraudulent transfers of land titles to predetermined individuals, under the guise of exercising their rights to free land usage. Subsequently, the unlawfully obtained lands were allegedly transferred to a private agricultural holding, implicating Solsky in a web of corruption and deceit. The revelations have sparked outrage among Ukrainian citizens and raised serious concerns about the integrity of the country's governance structures. Solskyi, once entrusted with overseeing agricultural policies and safeguarding public interests, now finds himself at the center of a scandal that threatens to tarnish his reputation and undermine public trust in the government.

LONDON — A former researcher working in the U.K. Parliament and another man have been charged with spying for China, British prosecutors said Monday. Police said Christopher Cash, 29, and Christopher Berry, 32, were charged with “providing prejudicial information to a foreign state, China.” They will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday. Police allege the two men collected, recorded or communicated information “prejudicial to the safety or interests of the state” and violated the Official Secrets Act between late 2021 and February 2023. “This has been an extremely complex investigation into what are very serious allegations,” said Dominic Murphy, head of the Metropolitan Police counterterrorism command. Authorities did not release details about the two men. But Berry is reportedly an academic based in Oxfordshire, and The Sunday Times reported last year that Cash was a parliamentary researcher who worked with senior lawmakers from the governing Conservatives. Cash’s colleagues included Alicia Kearns, who now heads the powerful Foreign Affairs Committee, and her predecessor in that role, Tom Tugendhat, who is now security minister. House of Commons Speaker Lindsay Hoyle confirmed Monday that one of the suspects was a parliamentary pass holder at the time of the alleged offenses. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said last year that he raised the issue with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, saying he voiced “very strong concerns” about interference in British democracy. At the time, Cash issued a statement through his lawyers maintaining his innocence. The Chinese Embassy called the allegations “completely fabricated” and “malicious slander,” and urged the U.K. to “stop anti-China political manipulation.” Also on Monday, three people were arrested in Germany on suspicion of spying for China and arranging to transfer information on technology with potential military uses. British intelligence authorities have ratcheted up their warnings about Beijing’s covert activities in recent years. In 2022, the head of the MI5 domestic intelligence agency, Ken McCallum, named China, Russia and Iran as the leading security threats to the U.K. He said that Chinese authorities’ attempts to shape British politics included targeting and influencing a range of people in politics, including those early in their political careers. Last month, several British lawmakers, including leading China critic and former Conservative Party leader Iain Duncan Smith, told reporters they had long been subjected to attempted hacking and impersonation attempts by hackers linked to the Chinese government. The lawmakers were speaking as American and British authorities announced a new set of sanctions and criminal charges against hackers linked to the Chinese government who are accused of targeting a huge range of officials and corporations in a sweeping state-backed operation.

The Ukrainians themselves work for the Tupolev design bureau. They're the ones that have pointed to this airbase.

Italian court drops trafficking charges against crew members of migrant rescue ships An Italian court threw out charges Friday against crew members of migrant rescue ships, ending a controversial case seven years after the government accused them of colluding with traffickers. Triggered by a tip-off by an ex-policeman on board and marked by the wire-tapping of lawyers and journalists, the long-running case had been highlighted as an extreme example of efforts by European governments to thwart NGOs helping migrants at sea. The court in Trapani, Sicily dismissed all charges against 10 defendants from the Iuventa, Vos Hestia and Vos Prudence ships operated by German NGO Jugend Rettet, Save the Children and Doctors Without Borders (MSF), respectively -- following the recommendation of the prosecution in February. Following the ruling, the Iuventa crew members said the case "stands as the longest, most expensive, and most extensive proceedings against SAR (Search-and-Rescue) NGOs, including two years of preliminary hearing with over 40 hearings". "This is one example in a much broader troubling trend we see in Europe... against people on the move and those in solidarity with them." In Italy, the tough stance against migrant rescue NGOs has accelerated under Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's hard-right government, which accuses the ships of encouraging people traffickers. Rome has limited ships to one sea rescue at a time, and forces them to dock at an assigned port -- rules the charities say have severely curtailed rescues. The government has also renewed a controversial EU-endorsed deal between Italy and the UN-backed Libyan government in Tripoli signed in 2017. Under that deal, Italy provides training and funding to the Libyan coastguard to stem departures of migrants and fight traffickers.

“For the first time, anti-aircraft missile units of the air force, in cooperation with the defence intelligence of Ukraine, destroyed a Tu-22M3 long-range strategic bomber,” Ukraine’s military said in a statement on social media. The plane was returning to its base in Russia after having fired missiles at Ukraine earlier in the night, the main intelligence directorate of Ukraine’s defence ministry said. The Tupolev Tu-22M (Russian: Туполев Ту-22М; NATO reporting name: Backfire) is a supersonic, variable-sweep wing, long-range strategic and maritime strike bomber developed by the Tupolev Design Bureau in the 1960s. The bomber was reported as being designated Tu-26 by Western intelligence at one time.[1] During the Cold War, the Tu-22M was operated by the Soviet Air Forces (VVS) in a missile carrier strategic bombing role, and by the Soviet Naval Aviation (Aviatsiya Voyenno-Morskogo Flota, AVMF) in a long-range maritime anti-shipping role.[2] As of 2021, there were 66 of the aircraft in service.[3][4]

Andrei Nikolayevich Tupolev (Russian: Андрей Николаевич Туполев; 10 November [O.S. 29 October] 1888 – 23 December 1972) was a Russian and later Soviet aeronautical engineer known for his pioneering aircraft designs as the director of the Tupolev Design Bureau.

Whereas contemporary scientists scoffed at the idea of human flight, Zhukovsky was the first to undertake the study of airflow. He is often called the Father of Russian Aviation.

This is from ‘The History of the Medieval World’ (2010). Maybe this isn’t all exactly right. But, it says that Ireland for example doesn’t have Roman roads. And there is an ancient tendency for Danes to look toward the British isles. I guess the Danes have clans. Maybe the theory is that Copenhagen does illegal trading in Scottish banks and they misuse Irish ports.
What seems right is that weirdly the Danes look toward London a lot.

But, often Denmark opposes the Royal Navy. The Danish navy maybe is a Viking navy.
I have two stories about Danes.
1) In Mongolia there was a Dane at my hotel. I told him that I had watched Peter Schmeichel in the World Cup. I wanted Denmark to win. The ball went right past his hand.

How I encounter them in places where I go. And I guess how they can afford to go there and how suspicious all of this is about trade. Maybe they’re criminals? Like Gogol.

Again from the ‘1961’ book. Stalin died in 1953. And then Khrushchev took over. Khrushchev was the Soviet leader from 1953-1964. After that was Brezhnev.
The book is saying that by 1961, there were still Stalinists in the Kremlin. And they were angry at Khrushchev's thaw. When they shot down our spy plane that was a sign of might for Marxism. As though they all started jumping up and down like they’d won something. “…US apology for the intrusion into Soviet airspace.” It was a Lockheed Martin plane. It’s a joke about bad borsh or something because they get excited when they shoot down a Lockheed.

These are reports from Russia’s periphery. The Kremlin probably acts so there is more pressure on borders. In Tbilisi they are protesting a foreign agents law. Kind of near Russia there are reports. I guess as though the Russians resemble Chinese communists.

The Ministry of Interior is suggesting a revision and addition to the rules governing the issuance of Bulgarian personal documents, which entails a rise in the fee for obtaining an identity card - shifting from the existing 18 BGN to 30 BGN.

TBILISI, April 15. /TASS/. The Georgian Interior Ministry said police detained 14 people during a rally against a foreign agents bill in the capital city of Tbilisi.

Grim Discovery in Sofia's Zapaden Park: Body Found with Hands Tied In a chilling turn of events, the lifeless body of a man was discovered in Sofia's "Zapaden Park" yesterday, as reported by NovaTV. The circumstances surrounding the man's death remain shrouded in mystery, but sources from NovaTV indicate that his hands were bound with pig tails, adding a disturbing layer to the investigation. Authorities from the "Emergency Services" have disclosed that the deceased individual was 44 years old, though further details about his identity or potential motives behind the incident have yet to be revealed. Notably, "Zapaden Park" stands as one of Sofia's less frequented green spaces, often overlooked amidst the city's larger parks. The grim discovery was made by a passerby walking his dog, casting a somber shadow over the otherwise tranquil surroundings.

Turkish gendarmerie teams have intercepted five illegal migrants in Edirne County while trying to cross into Bulgaria, news website Haberler reports. The operation was carried out on Sunday near the village of Demirkoy (in Lalapasa municipality). The arrested migrants are Egyptian citizens. During the gendarmerie operation, the smuggler who organised the attempt to cross the migrants into Bulgaria was also detained. The migrants were handed over to the Migration Service in Adrianople.

This is a crazy one. My Uncle Dave maybe is like a Roman in Germania. Because he was in the Battle of Northwind. And the Germans wouldn’t stop trying to attack the Americans even after the war was over. I know a British submarine officer. I guess Dimitri Polansky is complaining about Doug. Maybe the Russian army is like the Hun in WWI.

Operation Nordwind order of battle On 31 December 1944, German Army Group G (commanded by Generaloberst Johannes Blaskowitz) and Army Group Upper Rhine (commanded by Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler) launched a major offensive against the thinly stretched, 110-kilometre-long (68 mi) front line held by the U.S. 7th Army.

"Such actions harm the intra-Yemeni settlement, undermining the efforts of international and regional mediators," Polyansky noted, adding that the Yemeni settlement has been put on pause because of such actions. On January 12, US and British aircraft, ships and submarines carried out their initial attack on targets belonging to the Yemen-based rebel Houthi movement Ansar Allah in a number of Yemeni cities, including Sana’a and Hodeidah. The strikes targeted the launch sites of rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as radar stations belonging to the Houthi rebels.

And then more reports about drones and the Black Sea.

DONETSK, April 15. /TASS/. Russian air defense forces detected and suppressed 387 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over four cities in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) in the past week, the DPR defense headquarters said on its Telegram channel on Monday.

MOSCOW, April 15. /TASS/. Russian troops destroyed the first Khmara electronic warfare station of the Ukrainian army over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Monday. Russian troops destroyed the Khmara jammer in the Avdeyevka area, it specified. "In counter-battery fire, the following targets were destroyed: a US-made 155mm M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery gun, a 152mm Akatsiya self-propelled artillery gun, a 122mm Gvozdika motorized artillery system, three 122mm D-30 howitzers, a US-manufactured 105mm M102 howitzer and a Khmara electronic warfare station," the ministry said in a statement.

ISTANBUL, April 16. /TASS/. Negotiations on the issue of concluding an agreement on ensuring the safety of navigation in the Black Sea are continuing, a diplomatic source in Turkey told TASS.

It’s possible that the British invented the howitzer. Because there was a Royal Navy admiral named Howe.

Richard Howe, Earl Howe (born March 8, 1726, London—died Aug. 5, 1799) was a British admiral who commanded the Channel fleet at the Battle of the First of June (1794) during the French Revolutionary Wars.

French mercenaries operate Caesar howitzers in Ukraine — French reporter According to Christelle Neant, French specialists are engaged to operate these howitzers in Ukraine as Ukrainian mobilized soldiers lack relevant skills and time to learn how to use them MOSCOW, April 15. /TASS/. French-made Caesar self-propelled howitzers in Ukraine are operated by mercenaries from among former French officers and soldiers because Ukrainian soldiers are lacking relevant skills, Christelle Neant, an independent French war reporter told TASS. "French mercenaries, former French soldiers or officers are deployed there to use these howitzers," Neant, editor-in-chief of the International Reporters agency and New Media Workshop graduate, said, citing her own data. According to Neant, French specialists are engaged to operate these howitzers in Ukraine as Ukrainian mobilized soldiers lack relevant skills and time to learn how to use them. The Russian defense ministry said in March that Russian forces had neutralized 147 out of 356 French mercenaries fighting for Ukraine since the beginning of the special military operation. The French reporter estimates that "more than 200" French mercenaries might be fighting against Russia in Ukraine. Vladimir Rogov, leader of the We Are Together With Russia movement, told TASS on Monday that Ukraine is extensively using Caesar 155mm self-propelled howitzers in the Zaporozhye Region to shell Russian positions in the liberated part of the region. The French ministry of the armed forces said in March that France had supplied Ukraine with 30 Caesar howitzers over the two years of the conflict. According to Minister Sebastien Lecornu, it is planned to send 78 such howitzers to Ukraine until the end of 2024. French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal said on March 12 that Paris intended to supply six Caesar self-propelled howitzers to the Ukrainian armed forces and would sponsor the delivery of 12 more of them to Ukraine.

‘Pax Romana’ is a book published by Yale University in 2016. Weidenfeld and Nicolson published the same book in London. Rome remember was founded by Romulus and Remus and the she wolf. And then there were early laws about how Romans could visit Carthage. Rome was surrounded by peoples in the periphery. And so the point is that there are logistical challenges in empire. The Royal Navy and the US Navy make a modern pax.

‘Berlin 1961’ is a book published in 2011. It talks about Khrushchev. Stalin believed there was an inevitable conflict with the west. Khrushchev believed there could be a peaceful coexistence. There isn’t supposed to be rhetoric like that anymore. The Russians are supposed to believe in free trade. It seems like the Kremlin is espousing Communist political theories.

War is bellum.
Case is casus.

The Russian diplomats in New York City said another Latin phrase. “Case for war.”
I think it’s a language school joke because where are the Romans now?
Maybe it means cause of war, cause for war, war cause, cause of many wars.
He said casus belli.
English is a really hard language.
Maybe he said “case of war” which wouldn’t be right in the sentence.
Some kind of joke about modern Russian and modern English. A lot of computer words are cognates, for example. I think computer in Russian is computer.
America is a Latin form of an Italian name. Amerigo Vespucci was an Italian sailor. America is the Italian word for the French word love.
These Russian guys aren’t going to get these Latin phrases right.

At the UN the Russians are siding with Tehran and against London. What about these other issues that London brings up in Russia’s sphere? I guess the Russians in New York City just want to talk about the army.

LONDON, April 15. /TASS/. The United Kingdom has started talks with four countries that could receive illegal migrants expelled from the country, The Times newspaper reported, citing documents of the British Foreign Office.

Amid the diplomatic jousting, US Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Robert Wood, underscored the Security Council's obligation to hold Iran accountable for its actions, while British envoy Barbara Woodward reaffirmed Britain's commitment to Israel's security. However, Russian representative Vasily Nebenzya criticized the meeting as "hypocritical" and highlighted Iran's retaliatory strikes as responses to Israeli aggression against a diplomatic mission.

"You know very well that an attack on a diplomatic mission is a casus belli under international law. And if Western missions were attacked, you would not hesitate to retaliate and prove your case in this room. Because for you, everything that concerns Western missions and Western citizens is sacred and must be protected," he said at a UN Security Council meeting convened in the wake of the Iranian attack on Israeli military installations.

It’s more clear that the Russians in Yemen are firing at our navy. The Russians in Ukraine are setting weird timelines and they are celebrating destroying tanks.

“Half of you will make the team, one of you will be team leader.”
That’s from the new Top Gun movie. One of the actors is a Longhorn. He’s from the Austin area. In the movie, he’s giving the woman pilot a hard time. When I saw the movie I didn’t know who he was. But, what I will say back to him is that I went to a better high school than him. He went to Westwood High School which is kind of north of the city. I went to a science and math high school near the airport. Bergstrom used to be an air force base but now it’s an airport. Kind of I went to a high school by the air force base. He went to a normal high school.
When I was at Georgia Tech. We played this war game about the Strait of Hormuz. I was the DNI in the class. It was at the Sam Nunn School. And everyone just kind of agreed that I should be team leader. At the time I ordered cyberattacks on the Iranian missile bases. But, that’s before we knew we could send the RAF to the eastern med.

These are about London and Moscow. How the Poles report Russian missiles in their airspace. And then the British want to continue with their operations in Syria. It’s a satire about Admiral Kulit in Latakia. How he wants to tell the British what to do but then Russian missiles fly everywhere. As though they’re not completely in control of Syria. It’s crazy he wants to tell London what to do anyway.

Hezbollah source says Israel struck position in east Lebanon A source within Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah group said Israel struck Sunday one of its buildings in Lebanon's east, close to the Syrian border, as tensions soared after Iran directly attacked Israel.

UK deploys several jets, air refuelling tankers in response to Iranian attack on Israel London [UK], April 14 (ANI): After Iran launched drones into Israel in retaliation to the air strike on its embassy in Syria, the UK moved several additional Royal Air Force jets and air refuelling tankers to the region, the country's Ministry of Defence said in a statement on Sunday. It said the deployed jets will intercept airborne attacks within range of the UK's existing mission. "In response to increased Iranian threats and the growing risk of escalation in the Middle East, the UK Government has been working with partners across the region to encourage de-escalation and prevent further attacks," the statement read. "We have moved several additional Royal Air Force jets and air refuelling tankers to the region. These will bolster Operation Shader, which is the UK's existing counter-Daesh operation in Iraq and Syria. In addition, these UK jets will intercept any airborne attacks within range of our existing missions, as required. We will continue to cooperate closely with our regional partners in the interest of de-escalation," it added. Meanwhile, Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Daniel Hagari said Saturday that Israel "intercepted a vast majority" of the strikes from Iran.

Here is maybe a satire about the Russians and drones. Because they launch so many. A lot are intercepted. And then the Ukrainians ask for more defense systems. How the Russians are alright to use up all of their ammunition.

Iran strikes cause minor damage to Israel military base, says army Iranian strikes caused "minor damage" to an Israeli base, army spokesman Daniel Hagari said Sunday, after Iran's state media reported "heavy blows" to the base.

Iran attack 'ongoing', 200 drones, missiles fired, says Israel army Iran has launched over 200 drones, ballistic and cruise missiles towards Israel and the attack is "ongoing," an army spokesman said early on Sunday. "The regime in Iran sent a massive swarm of over 200 killer drones, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles," Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a statement, adding that "so far, we've intercepted the vast majority of incoming missiles".

This is one about the Strait of Hormuz. I have played a wargame in graduate school about the Strait of Hormuz. It’s a specific thing that maybe the Iranians will do. And then how does everyone respond. And so notice there was a call to the White House and a UNSC meeting.

Commandos from Iran's Revolutionary Guard rappelled onto a container ship "linked to Israel" near the Strait of Hormuz and seized the vessel on Saturday, Iran's state news agency claimed, adding that the ship was being transferred to Iran's territorial waters. An Israeli military spokesperson warned that Iran "will bear the consequences for choosing to escalate the situation any further".

Netanyahu holds talk with Biden as Iran attacks Israel US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Binjamin Netanyahu spoke by telephone on Saturday night, the White House said, after Iran launched a retaliatory drone and missile attack on Israel.

UN Security Council to meet Sunday on Iran attack The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting Sunday over Iran's unprecedented drone and missile attack on Israel, the body's president said.

We’re getting funny stuff the Iranians are saying. The Iranian state media maybe has good journalists. Maybe they’re better than the Russian state media. Also, that’s the right name of the desert. They’re being smart about geographic terms. Maybe the Iranians are smarter than the Russians, for example, in Syria. Syria has different deserts, etc.

Thousands gather in Iran in show of support for attack on Israel Thousands of Iranians took to the streets of Iran early Sunday in a show of support for the unprecedented drone and missile attack under way against arch foe Israel.

Iran state media say Israel attack dealt 'heavy blows' to Negev air base Iran's retaliatory drone and missile attack on Israel early Sunday dealt "heavy blows" to an air base in the Negev desert, state media reported, "The most important Israeli air base in the Negev was the successful target of the Kheibar missile," the official IRNA news agency said, adding that "images and data indicate that the base sustained heavy blows."

Telling the British about Catholic school. I’ve been to Catholic schools in Texas, California, and Washington, DC. I attend mass at St. Matthews in Washington, DC which is where John Kennedy’s funeral was. There is a sign at the front saying this is where John Kennedy’s casket was during the mass. Sometimes I attend mass where Robert Kennedy went to church which is St. Joseph’s on the Hill. There is a sign up that says Robert Kennedy was an usher at that church.
There is some irony here about Catholic schools and paying for Catholic schools. The ye olde tale is that the Virginians turn to Communism to pay for their kids to go to Catholic school. At Catholic school I wrote a paper on how the Irish built the railroads in America. They worked alongside the Chinese. But, the Irish guys refused to boil water and many of them succumbed to dysentery. But, the Chinese workers sometimes were sent to work with the dynamite. Maybe the Irish managers were bigots because they didn’t boil water and then it was weird about the dynamite blasts.
In the world, I boil water. I boil water all day. I guess the Irish managers who don’t boil water don’t go to Catholic school. The kids who go to Catholic school boil water.

I was in Catholic school writing this paper on the Falklands. And reading about Argentinian pilots dropping bombs on British ships. What if those people were my relatives? British people aren’t allowed to be Catholics? Americans aren’t allowed to go to Catholic church? It was unethical and wrong for those Argentinian pilots to fire at British ships. The British sailors would have been named Chris, John, and David.

Cillian Murphy and the Academy. About Irish Catholics and Roman Catholics. It’s been a Pole, a German, and now an Argentinian. It’s been hard on everyone about the Vatican. What about the Falklands? I wish Pope Francis would talk about the Falklands and if he knows anyone in the Argentinian army. They fired at British ships. Argentinian warplanes as though they were the Luftwaffe, fired at Royal Navy ships in the 1980s. Now Caracas and Sanaa are firing at Royal Navy ships. Pope Benedict confessed to having served in the German army. Conceptually the Vatican and how they have these leaders that oppose Pax Brittanica.

What an unbelievable news day. The Turks are saying that Belgrade is going to send those French planes to the PLA. And notice here how the Chinese economy seems integrated into the Russian and Serbian economies. How these pro-Russia people are Chinese trade profiteers. And how Serbia assists the Russians to integrate into African armies. A really significant turn of events.

Serbia close to deal to buy French fighter jets in shift from Russia Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic announced that his country is close to reaching an agreement on the purchase of 12 French-made Rafale fighter jets, in a switch from its traditional supplier Russia. Vucic spoke during his two-day visit to Paris and talks with French President Emmanuel Macron as well as French defense officials, including Rafale manufacturer Dassault Aviation. Vucic said that he had a very good conversation with Macron on Monday night, which lasted more than three hours, and that they "reached concrete agreements regarding the purchase of the Rafale fighter jets.” He said contracts will be signed in the next two months in Macron’s presence, adding that the purchase of the sophisticated jets will drastically widen military and other cooperation between the two states.

China helping Moscow in biggest military expansion since Soviet times, US says China is helping Russia undertake its biggest military expansion since Soviet times, US officials said Friday, stepping up public pressure as concerns rise over Ukraine. US officials are hoping the release of the intelligence will encourage European allies to press China, as Chancellor Olaf Scholz heads to Beijing this weekend and Group of Seven foreign ministers meet next week in Italy. Unveiling US findings, officials said China was helping Russia on a range of areas including the joint production of drones, space-based capabilities and machine-tool exports vital for producing ballistic missiles. China has been the key factor in revitalizing Russia’s defense industrial base “which had otherwise suffered significant setbacks” since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a senior US official told reporters on condition of anonymity.

Russian military instructors, air defence system arrive in Niger amid deepening ties Russian military instructors have arrived in Niger with an air defence system and other equipment as part of the West African nation’s deepening security ties with Moscow, state television announced late Thursday. Niger’s military government agreed in January to step up security cooperation with Russia, after expelling French forces that were helping fight jihadist rebellions in several Sahel nations. On Friday, African Corps—seen as the successor of Russia’s Wagner mercenary group in Africa—confirmed it had arrived in Niger. The Tele Sahel broadcaster showed a Russian transport plane arriving at Niamey airport on Wednesday night. It said “the latest military equipment and military instructors from the Russian defence ministry” had arrived. Russia will help “install an air defence system... to ensure complete control of our airspace”, the report said. One instructor was quoted as saying that “We are here to train the Niger army and help it use the equipment that has just arrived. The equipment is for different military specialities.” “The first flight of African Corps troops and volunteers has arrived in Niger,” the group wrote on Telegram.

Belgium opens probe into Russian ‘interference’ in European Parliament Belgian prosecutors have opened a probe into Russian “interference” in the European Parliament following allegations lawmakers were paid to spread Kremlin propaganda, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said Friday. De Croo said Belgium was enacting this week a new law against such interference and was calling for more tools at the EU level to combat Russian propaganda and disinformation. He said Belgian prosecutors were to ask for an urgent meeting of the Eurojust agency that handles cross-border legal cooperation within the EU. The Czech Republic has put the Voice of Europe and two pro-Kremlin Ukrainian politicians—Viktor Medvedchuk and Artem Marchevsky—on its sanctions list in relation to the pro-Russia network’s activities.

Exodus from key town on Myanmar-Thai border as it falls to anti-junta resistance A stream of people, some fearing air strikes, queued at a border crossing to flee Myanmar early on Friday, a day after the strategically vital town of Myawaddy near Thailand fell to anti-junta resistance that is gaining strength. On Thursday, Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said the fighting in Myanmar should not spill into his country’s airspace. In an interview with Reuters last week, Srettha said the Myanmar junta was “losing strength”, as he pushes to open talks with the regime. Thailand, which says it is keeping neutral in the Myanmar conflict and can accept up to 100,000 people displaced by it, has pursued engagement, including aid deliveries, with its neighbour since Srettha came to power last August. Yet the junta could find itself stretched further after the Arakan Army rebel group warned it would renew an offensive in Myanmar’s western state of Rakhine. Arakan Army chief Twan Mrat Naing warned residents of the Rakhine cities of Sittwe and Kyauk Phyu to relocate ahead of “a decisive battle”, the group said in a statement. One of Myanmar’s most powerful ethnic armed forces, the Arakan Army was part of Operation 1027, a major assault by three rebel groups last October that seized significant territory from the junta.

It’s about how Russia and China work together in their armies and navies. And you can see this in Africa and the Middle East. The Chinese navy and the Russian defense people. How they have conservative values. And now the government in Minsk is asking about the shooting at the concert hall. It’s because the Russians themselves send so many people to their neighboring countries. They have so many kids. Novak’s kids and Nikola’s kids live abroad, for example.

He denied to Reuters that his sons were Hamas fighters, adding that the deaths of his sons and grandchildren will not affect the talks on a ceasefire in Gaza, because "the interests of the Palestinian people are placed above everything." Haniyeh also accused Israel of delaying the negotiation process. On April 10, the Hamas leadership confirmed that Haniyeh’s three sons and four grandchildren were killed in an Israeli military strike on a refugee camp in northern Gaza. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement expressed their condolences. How the brain scans, and what does it see? Maybe it means Alex is a sociopath. Because he isn’t with everyone else about cause and effect. The British talk about sociopaths. I think a sociopath by definition is someone who is in denial about cause and effect. His actions aren’t consistent with societal rules.
It’s called the law of entropy.
It’s in different sciences.

-> My friend James lives in Seattle. I think he works for Amazon but he went to RIT which is the Rochester Institute of Technology. He and I used to go out to eat and he would eat a lot.

Initial searches for the weapons took place in Germany in October, with investigators initially suspecting Poland as the hiding place. The suspects had reportedly traveled to Poland multiple times. Russian Recruitment Surge: 30,000 New Soldiers Monthly for the War in Ukraine Recent assessments from British military intelligence reveal a concerning trend: Russia is purportedly recruiting approximately 30,000 soldiers each month for its ongoing war against Ukraine. The Ministry of Defence's daily summary, cited by DPA, highlighted this estimate alongside reports of renewed Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, resulting in power outages across multiple regions. According to British military intelligence, Russia maintains a considerable numerical advantage over Ukraine, boasting superior ammunition and equipment. The briefing underscored Russia's capacity to absorb losses and sustain its offensive operations aimed at weakening Ukrainian forces. Recent advances by Russian troops, notably the capture of Avdeyevka in eastern Donetsk Oblast, signal a continued westward push. Despite facing resistance, Russia appears determined to seize control of additional villages in the vicinity, such as Orlovka and Tonenkoe.

It's like Harry and journalists. Diddy's attorney doesn't like cops.
And, it's as though Diddy has employed a White House staff.

I don't like that the attorney is saying bad things about the army, or the police. He cannot issue a public statement that seems derogatory about public sector employees. Aren't they just doing their jobs? Also, that's amazing that Sean Combs was there when this all happened. That also sounds like the White House because he employs some kind of a staff. Diddy has a White House staff, essentially.

Aaron Dyer, Diddy’s attorney, said in a statement to CNN on Tuesday: “Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences. There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated.” Heavily armed teams of HSI agents searched Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and the Miami area Monday – some riding in armored vehicles, in part because authorities believed Combs employs armed private security at each of his residences, the first source said. Agents were processing paperwork on card tables outside the Miami-area home, and mobile command post vehicles were visible at both properties. Agents were authorized to search for documents, phones, computers and other electronic devices that hold data or videos, the second law enforcement source said. A law enforcement source earlier told CNN that Monday’s searches were related to an ongoing sex trafficking investigation. HSI in New York said Monday it “executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation” in cooperation with local law enforcement and HSI units in Los Angeles and Miami, and would “provide further information as it becomes available.” Dyer said Combs was “never detained” during the searches “but spoke to and cooperated with authorities.”

Satellite images confirmed, Putin experienced new blow: They were destroyed PHOTO Satellite images have been released that show the consequences of a missile attack by the Ukrainian army on a communication hub in the city of Sevastopol, in the annexed Crimea, used by the Black Sea Fleet. The two photos, dated March 21 and 24, are from California-based global imaging company Planet Labs and were obtained by Schemes, a US-funded Radio Liberty project. Satellite images show that the roof of the building collapsed in the attack. Ukraine's military said on Sunday it had successfully attacked a communications hub, unspecified infrastructure facilities, as well as two large Russian amphibious ships, the Yamal and Azov, delivering another blow to Putin. Russian officials did not confirm the strikes and the damage caused, but the governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said on his Telegram channel that it was "the most massive attack in recent times." Ukraine has targeted Russia's Black Sea Fleet during Putin's full-scale invasion of the country, which began in February 2022, and Kyiv is vowing to reclaim Crimea, which Moscow annexed in 2014.

According to that American newspaper, ID-K was founded in 2015 by disgruntled members of the Pakistani Taliban, who then accepted a more violent version of Islam. The group's numbers have been halved to around 1,500 to 2,000 fighters by 2021, the New York Times reports, due to a combination of US airstrikes and attacks by Afghan commandos that have killed many of the group's leaders. The group then received a windfall after the Taliban overthrew the Afghan government, after the chaotic withdrawal of US military forces from Afghanistan. It is also recalled that, during the withdrawal of the US military, IS-K members carried out a suicide attack on the international airport in Kabul in August 2021, in which 13 American soldiers and as many as 170 civilians were killed.

Descriptions about Russian foreign policy in Central Asia:

Their detainment underscores the gravity of the situation and the ongoing efforts to bring all involved parties to justice. According to Turkish security officials, the gunmen from Tajikistan made a brief trip to Turkey to renew their residence permits in Russia. However, crucially, it was affirmed that their radicalization did not occur during their time in Turkey. This detail highlights the global nature of the threat posed by terrorism and the challenges in tracking and preventing extremist activities across borders. The absence of arrest warrants against the attackers allowed them to move freely between Turkey and Russia, facilitating their sinister plans. Remarkably, two of the assailants departed Turkey on the same flight bound for Moscow on March 2, 2024, laying the groundwork for the tragic events that unfolded on March 22, 2024, claiming 139 innocent lives.

BISHKEK, March 25. /TASS/. Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Ministry has warned the country’s nationals not to take any trips to Russia unless absolutely necessary amid tightened security measures in Russia following the terror attack in a Moscow suburb. According to various estimates, between 700,000 to one million Kyrgyz nationals may be staying in Russia.

Bad statements coming from embassies here in Washington, DC:

WASHINGTON, March 26. /TASS/. The majority of cyberattacks are carried out from the US, which is why Washington is putting global critical infrastructure at risk, Liu Pengyu, spokesperson for the Chinese embassy in the US, told TASS.

WASHINGTON, March 26. /TASS/. The destination of militants following the terrorist attack on a crowded concert at the Crocus City Hall music venue in suburban Moscow indicates that the Kiev regime has turned terrorist, Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said in a conversation with journalists.

MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. The incident involving a Russian cruise missile that allegedly entered Polish airspace on the morning of March 24 was accidental, General Waldemar Skrzypczak, former Polish Land Forces commander, told the Polsat News TV channel.

MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Poland Sergey Andreyev did not appear at the Polish Foreign Ministry, Polish diplomatic service’s spokesman Pawel Wronski said.

2) There are reports about censorship.
3) Lingering socialist themes in government.

SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, March 25. /TASS/. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has arrived in Sochi to attend an international forum on the nuclear industry.

Samara Oblast (Russian: Сама́рская о́бласть, tr. Samarskaya oblast, IPA: [sɐˈmarskəjə ˈobləsʲtʲ]) is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast). Its administrative center is the city of Samara. From 1935 to 1991, it was known as Kuybyshev Oblast (Russian: Ку́йбышевская о́бласть, tr. Kuybyshevskaya Oblast, IPA: [ˈkujbɨʂɨfskəjə ˈobləsʲtʲ]). Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky lamented the challenges in restoring electricity, highlighting the plight of Kharkiv where 200,000 residents endure a blackout, necessitating a city-wide curfew until power is restored. DTEK, Ukraine's leading private energy company, confirmed the imposition of power cuts in Odesa, compounding the city's woes. Amidst the chaos, a fire erupted at one of southwestern Russia's largest thermal power plants, momentarily disrupting energy supplies. Governor Vasily Golubev disclosed the incident via Telegram, assuring that investigations are underway to determine the cause. While no casualties were reported, suspicions arose regarding the origin of the fire. Close sources to security forces alleged that Ukrainian drones instigated the blaze, echoing earlier reports of Russian forces intercepting hostile drones launched from Ukrainian territory. The Novocherkassk power plant, a cornerstone of southwestern Russia's energy grid, bore the brunt of the incident, casting a shadow over its operations.

MOSCOW, March 24. /TASS/. The Polish Armed Forces reported a violation of the country's airspace on the border with Ukraine early in the morning of March 24 and claim that it is a Russian cruise missile. No evidence was provided for these statements.

A report about how people in Moscow maybe fly to the airbase and then maybe it has Asian-like airplanes:

The military base is located some 500 miles southeast of Moscow. Russia's strategic bombers use the airfield to attack targets in Ukraine.

Engels base is also the same military air station, along with the Dyagilevo base that saw Ukraine conducting strikes using modified Soviet-era Strizh-141 high-speed reconnaissance drones for land strikes on December 2.

Are they allowed to defend criminal positions with defense shields?

An unspecified number of drones were destroyed over the city of Engels in Russia's Saratov Oblast, regional governor Roman Busargin said in a post to the Telegram messaging app on Wednesday. The Russian official did not offer any information on how many uncrewed vehicles were shot down, nor precise details on the target of the drones.

The airbase resembles the Latakia navy base.

The Engels-2 airbase houses Russian Tu-95 and Tu-160 strategic bombers, which have repeatedly launched missile strikes on Ukraine throughout the more than two years of war. The bombers are part of Russia's long-range aviation forces, capable of carrying out nuclear and conventional long-range strikes.

Maybe they do other things and that's why they're under investigation?

Ukrainian media reported on Wednesday that Kyiv's military intelligence agency, the GUR, had orchestrated the drone attack. Ukraine rarely officially takes responsibility for strikes on internationally-recognized Russian territory.

They are suspected of several things:

The drone attack on the city of Engels in Russia’s Saratov Oblast on the morning of 20 March was a special operation of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

Earlier on March 20 Ukrainian intelligence sources told RFE/RL that Ukrainian drones attacked a Russian air base that houses strategic bombers located near the city of Engels in the Saratov region in an attack planned and executed by the Main Directorate of Ukraine's Military Intelligence (HUR). In addition to the clashes, Russian forces launched two missiles and conducted dozens of air strikes using various weapons.

A lot of people are looking at this air base:

This is at least the fourth drone attack on the Saratov region since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

The Russians are building stuff near where they're firing drones. Like in Afghanistan.

"On 18 March 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the construction of a railway line from Rostov on Don in southern Russian through the Russian temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to Crimea."

Dec. 5, 2022 Ukraine was behind explosions that rocked two airbases deep inside Russia and killed three military personnel, Moscow said Monday. The blasts at sites hundreds of miles from the border between the two countries were the result of a Ukrainian drone attack, Russia's defense ministry said, potentially signaling a new ability by Kyiv to strike far from the front lines of the conflict. Two aircraft were lightly damaged, the ministry said in a statement, and four people were wounded. "The Kyiv regime attempted to attack by Soviet-made UAVs the military airfields at Dyagilevo in the Ryazan region and Engels in the Saratov region in an effort to disable Russian long-range aircraft," it said, adding that the unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, were intercepted by air defense while flying at a low altitude. NBC News has not verified the claims and Ukraine has not taken responsibility. Both airbases are more than 300 miles from the border.

Latakia 1

1) Kyiv strongly denied any involvement in Friday's assault, for which the Islamic State (IS) group's Afghan affiliate has claimed responsibility.
2) Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said it had detained 11 people including the four men who carried out the attack. Russian media said the men had fled the scene in a white car and that the men were detained in the Bryansk region, about 340 km (210 miles) southwest of Moscow.
3) Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an address to the nation that that the four men who attacked the concert near Moscow were heading towards Ukraine when they were detained, and that they hoped to cross the border.

Maybe William thinks there isn't money because we all have wisdom and we learn through experience.

“Wisdom cannot be imparted. Wisdom that a wise man attempts to impart always sounds like foolishness to someone else ... Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, do wonders through it, but one cannot communicate and teach it.”

Notice it was tariffs on Chinese trade and now it's tariffs on Russian trade. Talking about Russia-China economic cooperation.

The European Commission is moving to impose tariffs on grain and related imports from Russia and Belarus, seeking to prevent Moscow from using farm products as a tool to wreak havoc on the EU market. Moscow responded immediately by saying Europeans would "suffer" from the move.

The Trump administration imposed stage three of Section 301 tariffs in September 2018—10 percent on $200 billion worth of goods from China. This stage was scheduled to increase to 25 percent beginning in January 2019, but the increase was delayed until it was allowed to go into effect in May 2019.

Moscow concert hall attack: what we know so far An attack by gunmen on a Moscow suburban concert hall Friday left more than 60 dead, more than 100 wounded and the theatre a blazing wreck, according to Russian authorities. Here is what we know about the attack on the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk ahead of a concert by the Piknik rock band: A witness told AFP it was a few minutes before the start of the concert by Piknik when automatic gunfire rang out. There were screams and then panic, said Alexei, a spectator who did not give his family name. Emergency services quoted by the Interfax news agency said between two and five armed attackers dressed in "tactical uniforms" and carrying automatic weapons, entered the concert hall and opened fire.

Venezuela's parliament approves creation of state in disputed oil rich Essequibo Venezuela's parliament has approved a law creating a federal state in the disputed oil-rich area of Essequibo across the border in Guyana, which on Friday slammed a "flagrant violation" of its sovereignty.

The new law allows for closed-door trials, gives the police rights to detain suspects for up to 16 days without charge and penalties including life sentences, among other things. "The new national security legislation is going to double down the repression on freedoms in Hong Kong with extended egregious sentences and a broadened definition of national security," said Frances Hui, an activist now based in the US, who described the legislation as a "final nail in a closed coffin".
