I think you need to go to kind of an engineering school to be recruited. I was really excited about going to Georgia Tech. Kind of, they don't accept Texans that often. I know less than five people from Austin who went to Georgia Tech. I am one of very very few people from Austin who have been to the Georgia Tech campus.
Matt Durham at Los Alamos, he ended up going to SUNY-Stony Brook. He never did get accepted into one of the good engineering schools.

I flew in the airplane from Austin to Atlanta. It was a direct flight. My cousin had been a commercial pilot in Atlanta. He worked for Delta. He was Uncle Edward's son, Pete. His son, Peter had hung himself in Tennessee. I guess he'd wanted to go to music school. My cousin had flown to Europe, and then they told the mom. And she had to wait for him to get back. Because their son had died. He had been in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a Navy pilot. His wife was from Atlanta originally. I think he shouldn't have married her because they would have been Confederates. Maybe that is what Top Gun is about. Because it's about flight school. Obviously HW had been a Navy pilot. I still talk to Anna sometimes at family events. I remember them because I met them in Vermont. When I was at Georgia Tech though, that is an example of I didn't do anything but school stuff. I just stayed on campus and I went to church. I made friends at school. I actually had a lot of friends on the Georgia Tech campus. Pete has died. I was sad that Pete died because I liked him. He was nice to me when I met them in Vermont.

There was a lot expected of me at the time. I really did need to pass these math tests. I wanted to play on the soccer team. Neither of my parents are from here.
The best example is that one time my uncle, who lived in Dallas, would walk around in the desert wearing loafers. That is funny, but there are snakes in the desert. He really could have gotten bitten by a spider or something.

It's as if Ricky thinks first of all, it's his money. But he's under some delusion that he made the money that he has. I think his dad made the money. And so it's unethical because I think some of what he spends is actually Campbell's.

My dad is from New York City. We moved to Texas. My childhood looked like competing with the locals here for like jobs and school stuff. I ended up doing alright. I moved to Washington, DC. The Carter administration established civil defense programs at different universities. Texas had a Russian program when I was there. I graduated from that. We were able to study at the Russian chemistry faculty.
